| The nearest town is YALIKAVAK (about 10 minutes by car) on the western tip of the BODRUM peninsula and is surrounded by spectacular scenery which makes it an ideal resort for those who wish to experience unspoiled Turkey. Once a sponge diving centre, YALIKAVAK is an attractive destination for visitors. The charming village square is a popular meeting place with its authentic coffee houses, shops and weekly market. The picturesque waterfront, which is a short walk away, is lined with restaurants to suit all tastes. Further along there is a sandy beach with crystal clear waters. The new marina attracts sailing boats from all around the AEGEAN. | ||

| From the old harbour it is possible to take boat trips on a wooden gulet to lovely unspoiled bays and local beauty spots along the coast. Day trips to the Greek island of KOS are also available by ferry from BODRUM and are reasonably priced. | ||

| In the Turgetreis direction you will find the beautiful old fishing village of GUMUSLUK with its stone built houses, beach, interesting craft shops and a range of excellent restaurants where you can enjoy freshly caught fish at a table right on the water’s edge. | ||

BODRUM, a 24 hour resort, is some 20 minutes away and is the hub of the peninsula, boasting attractions and entertainment for all the family. Aquapark is ideal for children. BODRUM castle and museum are also worth a visit; stroll around the tree-lined marina or ‘shop til you drop’. Whilst in BODRUM, do not miss the chance of taking a wonderfully relaxing, authentic, turkish bath (hamman). |
